Arsenal will take on Aston Villa. The match will take place at Emirates Stadium on Wednesday, August 31, 2013.
Arsenal started off well, but will it last? Since the days of the legendary Wenger, the “Gunners”, for very long, has not shine. Unai Emery couldn’t revive the project, and the results under Michele Arteta were inconsistent and unstable. Although the last season was a promising one, everyone believed they would lose the fight for 4th place to rivals Tottenham. The club, bolstered mainly by Gabriel Jesus and Zinchenko from Manchester City, managed to start a winning streak that allowed it to become its sole leader. This streak could have been broken by Fulham but, thanks to Gabriel Magalanesh’s goal, Fulham was also defeated in the end.
Aston Villa is not very impressive yet. The Villans will begin their first season under Stevie G. He was the “fireman” for the legendary Englishman who arrived last autumn from the Scottish Rangers. Will he be able to maintain his competence over time? It’s not enough to just be a motivator. Gerrard’s name is a magnet for many newcomers, and many have visited Birmingham just to be there. Stephen’s wards still struggle to get everything. They lost against Everton who had failed to make it to the Premier League. They beat Bolton 4-1 on the road but this was a cup match against a team that has fallen into League 1. They played in Birmingham 0-1 with West Ham, who had never scored or scored any points before.
Villa recently won three consecutive head-to-head matches. Last season, Arsenal won with this opponent 3-1 at home and 1-0 away. Arsenal will, of course, make mistakes somewhere. It is unlikely that the Aston Villa will stop them at their home. With a handicap of “-1 goal”, we bet on Gunners victory.
Prediction: Arsenal to win with a handicap of -1.0
