According Tuttomercatoweb’s report, Milan have been in touch with the Belgian entourage to try to sign the midfielder this season. However, no information has been provided on the transfer.
Fabrizio Romano, a CaughtOffside columnist, gave an update on Lokonga’s status this morning. He said:
“I don’t have any confirmation that there has been any negotiation between Arsenal and AC Milan for Albert Sambi Lokonga.” Lokonga was always on Paolo Maldini’s list over the past 2-3 years, but no offers have been received from AC Milan. Milan is still looking for a midfielder. We’ll see what happens over the next few days.”
Lokonga arrived from Anderlecht in Belgium last summer in a contract worth PS18m. He then went on to play 24 games under Mikel Arteta last year in all competitions.
Although the 22-year old has a contract with Emirates through 2026, Marco Conterio of Tuttomercatoweb claims that the Gunners would be open to letting the Belgian go.
Romano said that the next few days would reveal a lot more about the transfer situation, but for now there are no offers from AC Milan to Lokonga.
