Brendan Rodgers left the Belgium international on the bench at Leicester City. Wesley Fofana was not selected as the Foxes boss talked about his players being ill-prepared for the game.
Tielemans could make a great signing for Arsenal, strengthening their midfield. He should also be available at a fair price as he is in his final year of his contract at King Power Stadium.
Although it remains to be seen if Arsenal will increase their interest in Tielemans, after being interested in him since May’s start, Romano believes that it is worth keeping an eye on the saga over the next few days. Romano wrote in his latest CaughtOffside column that there was a lot of attention on Wesley Fofana’s absence from Leicester City’s squad, but Brendan Rodgers left Youri Tielemans at the bench.
: “I think Tielemans will be a player to watch until the end. Although Leicester are aware that there could be proposals, Arsenal and Granit Xhaka have been in contact since May. However, Arsenal have not made an official offer.
“The position is absolutely open, even because there are not yet any agreements for the player at the King Power Stadium to extend his contract.”
Arsenal currently have Thomas Partey and Granit Xhaka as their first choice central players, while Oleksandr Zinchenko could also play in that area.
Tielemans’ passing and goal-spotting skills would add a little more energy to the team.
Still, Tielemans would give the team a bit more spark in that department due to his range of passing an eye for goal from midfield, so there’s surely room for him to join as well.
