Marmoush was loaned to VfB Stuttgart last season by VfL Wolfsburg after Mark van Bommel failed to convince him.
Marmoush, 23, had a successful spell with Die Schwaben. He scored three goals and assisted five times in 23 Bundesliga games.
Stuttgart remained in the Bundesliga despite finishing 15th after a matchday drama.
Marmoush won two Bundesliga Rookies of the Month awards in September and April.
Marmoush also played a crucial role in Egypt’s progress to the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations. They lost the final to Senegal due to penalties.
Despite Jorg Schmadtke, Wolfsburg’s sporting director, having confirmed Marmoush’s return next season for the club, it appears that the forward may be leaving the club.
Marmoush’s current contract with Wolfsburg expires in 2023. The Wolves may be willing to sell Marmoush during the summer.
Matteo Moretto, an Italian journalist, claims that Marmoush is being sought out by Spanish La Liga outfit RCD Espanyol.
Barcelona-based RCD Espanyol is reportedly interested in Marmoush’s services and may be preparing a bid during the current transfer window.
Espanyol returned to La Liga last year after being promoted to the top-flight. They finished 14th in league table with 42 points.
