Introduction
Everton Football Club was founded in 1878. It is located in Liverpool, Merseyside in north-west England. The club is a founding member both of the English League and Football League. It has a long history and predates its city rivals Liverpool by 14 year. The club has won nine English top flight titles, five FA Cups, and one European Cup Winners Cup. It currently plays in the English Premier League.
Everton’s Premier League debut season saw mediocre results, with the team often struggling to stay above the relegation zone. The team’s performance improved after 2002. They finished 4th in 2004/05 and qualified for Europe.
