Manchester United Football Club, founded in 1902, is located in Manchester, Greater Manchester, North West England, and is a member of the English Premier League.
Manchester United was founded in 1878 by railwaymen of the Lancashire and Yorkshire Railway in Newton Heath LYR, which was officially renamed Manchester United Football Club in 1908. As of 2019, Manchester United have won 20 top-flight English football titles, three Champions League titles, 12 English FA Cups and many other honours, becoming the first English team to win the European Champions Cup in 1967-68, the first team in the history of Europe’s top five football leagues to be crowned the season’s Triple Crown in 1998-99, and the first team to win the English Football League in 2010-11. In 2010-11, they became the first team to win the most top flight titles in English football. They are also one of the three Grand Slam teams in European football to have won the European Cup.
